This guessing game is called What Pet Did They Get?
Use this guessing game with the Dr. Seuss book, What Pet Should I Get?
At the end of the story, the children leave the store with a box. All we can see are two eyes. We are left to wonder What Pet Did They Get?
This guessing game is set up to answer that question. It does so as follows:
Students are given 3 clues to guess What Pet Did They Get?
There is a pet hiding under the box.
Once the students read the 3 clues, they guess. There is a textbox set up on the bottom of each task card. Students guess and then remove the box to see what pet is hiding behind it.
The next task card has the students answer 3 questions about the pet (see below)
Fun and engaging - great way for students to learn about pets.

An initial Instructions Task Card
12 pet guessing cards where the following pets are hiding behind the box: snake, frog, dog, bird, pig, hamster, hedgehog, turtle, fish, mouse, rabbit and a cat.

POP-UP Remembrance Day Craftivity for Canadians
This is a great craft for students to complete for Remembrance Day in Canada - some of the templates mention Canada, Flanders Fields, etc.
This craft has two main components:
- A base (made out of one piece of paper, 8 1/2 x 14) There are 2 base templates to choose from.
- POP-UPs - 9 options to choose from, including male and female representation, graphics for Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force. On the back of each POP-UP is a simple writing activity.
(Note: some of the graphics may not exactly represent Canadian uniforms so take a good look at the preview copy to make sure you are ok with the uniforms!)
Includes step-by-step instructions, graphics and templates needed to create this POP-UP Remembrance Day craftivity..
Requires: Paper (I used regular photocopy paper but light cardstock is recommended), glue, coloring pencils and scissors.
The POP-UP Craft folds flat for students to easily transport home or expands so that it can be displayed in the classroom.
Always make sure you download and save the project before printing! Sometimes customers just right click on the preview of a download and things don't print properly! Print on 8 1/2 x 14" paper.
Note: A slightly different version of this craft is listed under Memorial Day and Veterans Day ... so don't buy those as they are quite similar to this version ... but they do not have the Canadian references.
This is a really fun craft to use with the new Dr. Seuss book, What Pet Should I Get?
What is included:
- 5 cat templates
- 5 dog templates
- a simple writing activity on the back of each
- they stand up!
- each fits on one piece of paper
What you need:
- paper, scissors, glue
- I used regular paper, using light cardstock would be great!
And ... it stands up!!! I love this craft!
This looks just like a sports locker ... only it smells a lot better! The locker stands up so that Dad can set it up on his desk or night stand. I have included an area at the back of the locker for students to write a message to Dad / Grandpa / Uncle.
Includes step-by-step instructions, decorations and templates needed to Build Dad a Sports Locker! All students have to do is color, cut and glue! Templates included: Sports locker, stand, graphics for basketball, hockey, golf, football, rugby, soccer, baseball, soccer and lacrosse!
Requires: Paper, glue, coloring pencils and scissors. I made this Sports Locker with regular paper, just made sure I photocopied the locker template on a colored piece of paper as I thought it looked better. I would recommend using light cardstock for the stand but, again, regular paper works because that is what I used! Cardstock just looks a bit better!!
Dads will love this item!!! Enjoy and Happy Father's Day!
